Air brushing models help?
« on: March 01, 2008, 06:31:05 pm »

I am close to finishing my first model and it needs the finshing touches.
I am trying to achieve a dirty / damaged metalic look.
I have used photo shop pro for many years and would like to use the air brush tool in that if poss, to achieve the correct look.
I have recently downloaded UVmapper & Unwrap3D and am totaly confused. I am unable to view anything with Unwrap and UVmapper doesn't save in a res higher enough to use the air brush to full effect.
Is there another simpler way to paint my models?
Thanks

Really you can just change the image size yourself.  If UVmapper doesn't save as a large enough file, just go into photo shop pro and resize the image too something bigger.  You probably don't want to change the ratio of the dimensions, but the overall size of the image doesn't matter.  The saved file from UVmapper just gives you a guide as to where you need to paint, so if you resize you just get a little lower quality guides but you can use the airbrush too its full capacity.
