Subwoofer Project
« on: October 05, 2008, 12:03:03 pm »

Hey guys, I was almost thinking about adding this to my topic about doob, but then decided to single it off as its own.

Any way, as you can see its a sub in a box with no textures, just a sub in a box..., (I originally made this at Best Buy where I work as a Car Audio Installation Technician, I was bored and didn't have any cars to work on...) I rendered it and thought to keep it for what ever reason. Some of you probably saw the locked post i made so I could save it when I went home. Any way the second image you see is just a quick scene with them stacked up, and then I decided to just play around with the Chain Path Plugin/Script (Thank you NickE). Any way I was just kinda working in Object Mode where all I had was the single box modeled when I rapped the chain around it. But when I switch to Scene Mode, There is what you see... I know part of the chain is sticking up out of the plane, but I don't care for now, it looked cool. So when something looks cool what do I do. I render it at 1680x1050 and with 256 samples with AmbientOccluder turned on... Any way as its named It took my Apple Mac Pro with 2x Intel Xeon Quad Cores @2.8GHz, and 2 Gb of RAM, 2 hours and 20 minutes to render that with 723,610,019 rays at 1680x1050. And thats was only using ONE of the EIGHT cores my computer has... I am so oo waiting for multi-core rendering to be up in Anim8or! LOL. Either way Im pleased.

Any way I have to go back to making a world for doob and experimenting with different textures, animations, and objects and characters he can interact with. Later guys...

uh, textures?
Theres no textures in that entire scene! ;) Ill post a wire rfame in a sec.lol. and its not a "cube". All sides are not equal.

cube –noun
1.   a solid bounded by six equal squares, the angle between any two adjacent faces being a right angle.

Its not the modeling I was focusing on. That only took about 10 minutes. Its that I wanted something that looked cool...lol Nothing fancy, just random.

Thanks i guess for the comment, lol.
