White dielectric
« on: November 01, 2008, 11:37:20 am »

I was trying to create a glow from a white light with dielectric materials (IOR=0, UnitDistance=30), I can do this with coloured objects but not white as it just disappears, is there a way to get around this?

What you'll have to do is give it a frosted glass look to get the white.

Here is a test - The dielectric has a sphere just a little bit smaller on the inside but it is transparent without attributes turned on.

I have the IOR set low just so you could see that it works. You'll have to play around with it a bit more to fine tune it. Hope this can work for you.
