WIP-AK-47
« on: November 06, 2008, 09:52:45 am »

Enjoy my assault (rifle).  Spent some time with it.  A lot of work needs to be done including sizing, texturing, and some detailing.

Just wanted to share with you all.

Looking good. Nice details, too bad the part where the bullets go in isn't that detailed (yet?). Some good textures will make this look really good.

Very nice, I agree with floyd, the details at the front are very cool. I just wonder how it would look like, when you put a texture.

Keep the work up ;)

Thanks guys.

Actually, a lot many details are yet to be incorporated.  Probably I will get time today to work on it.

I agree, this model already looks good, but it'll look great once it's textured. The front details
are nice too. Good work.

I almost forgot to work on this model.  Today, I thought I should try to give it some shape.  Here is my attempt at texturing my ak-47.

Still need some changes.

Nice texturing! I love the gritty look of it.

Great job on the texturing! It llooks like a real gun with that patina.

To improve ..... maybe you could up the resolution on the butt and the hand grip.  Maybe  some tweaking of a bummap aand a spec map to introduce some highlights.

Just depends how far you want to go.

I do agree with headwax, a higher definition texture would be nice.  That way you could get more details.
I also noticed that there are some artifacts in the render on the gun, though I don't believe it's really the texture.  It seems more to me a smoothing issue.  So you way want to turn up the smoothing angle and make creases by changing edge properties.

Yes, I agree.

I wanted to give the gun a rugged texture.  It should look like a gun that has changed several hands and kind of old, worn out.

Another render.

Nooblet:  I use an ancient version of photoshop and/or MS paint to do my texturing.
