I have tried 3 different 3D unwrapping programmes and still have no idea how to unwrap my lizard to make it flat so I can texture it.
I have tried lots of different tutorials and searched endlessly and it's driving me nuts  :P, could someone please help me out?

Thanks

shwell,i know what u mean,i love that look it has when it's unwrapped but i dunno how 2 do it either, and thanks people for bringing the topic from it's bloody grave...and,we honestly need more peoplezez!!!please, newbs, semi newbs anything without the word "not" & "newb" in the same classification,i myself wouldn't classify my self a newb, even if that is what my sig. says...sorry if this post seems pointless...

Looks nice.maybe if you subtlly bump map those bars, they could also use a nice reflection.for a school project thats an instant A, but your teacher, most likely not much of an animator, will probably not understand the effort you went through so either that or she is really old and wonders how you got it "three dee".

I can't even get past making the base extrude in my first tutorial.
The warning says I might not have been in top view but I was. I've
started over dozens of times, not believing what a banana-head I am.

The base just stays flat, doesn't get thick like the tutorial. Is there any
other reason other than I live in a dead-zone that might cause this?

Thanks,

Doug

Yeah, some have said they've had problems with that tutorial
As for your case, did you select the egg plant and the modifier and then click Build->Modifier->Bind Modifiers?
Could you show us some pictures of the problem (Print Screen)

did you tell it to extrude in the Y axis? cause it will only "get thick" if you are extruding the Y axis.
