First Head Model in Anim8or
« on: March 22, 2009, 04:20:16 am »

A lot of time was spent on this, and any feedback would be appreciated.
Excluding the hair, I was looking at the Joan of Arc tutorial for 3DS Max when modeling this.

Thanks I'll try get the wireframe pics up soon!
The hair, i'm facinated by particle hair, and since Anim8or doesn't support it I thought i'd fake it. I took a curved path, made an extreemely small N-gon and extruded it along the path. Every strand is made this way.

Anim8or crashes when I put too much hair on her head though  :( so the back half of her head is bald  :D

I know I used to get a lot of anim8or crashes with my XP machine and its 750ish Mb RAM.... much better now using my newer machine and its 2Gb RAM, though I do still get a rare time when anim8or just POOFs and is gone, even if I don't have a very complex project working.

I really wanted to know about the hair because it looks like someone sketch/sribbled it with a pencil.  It has a very interesting effect on the image.
