Feture Request: Edge Extrude

Sort of like face extrude, except only the selected edge or edges, meaning you only have to deal with the edges you want to extrude, instead of having to extrude a face and then deleting anything you don't want. This feature is just to make life a bit easier ;).

mcheccyb ---
That's the inset tool; it only works on faces, and it certainly doesn't extrude!  Try selecting edges only, and it does nothing!

mcheccyb pointed out the correct tool, however it only works when the selected edge shows in green.

OK, lynn22, now I'm confused...

I create a box, convert to mesh, delete one face, then select the edges for the open end of the box, which are green.  Choosing the Inset tool doesn't appear to do anything.  Unless you're saying this is a feature that's part of 9.7, because I've only got 9.6.

Mcheccyb is correct here.  The tool is useful as well, though it would be awesome if, instead of simply extruding in a certain direction, the edge would simply follow the mouse, meaning you could drag it basically wherever you want depending on the view etc. (such as in 3ds max and other applications).

My bad.  I guess I need to actually use my eyes.  My apologies for taking this off-course...
