hi I have to do a school project with animator, im pretty good with flash but im no good with animator.  Im doing the pencil animation, and im trying to draw the squares that will slide and uncover the text but i cant get rid of the border.  I feel like an idiot but i cant figure it out.  Can someone tell me how to get rid of it, and any other tips you can give for pencil animation?

It might just be me, but I cant figure out what problem you're having exactly, where is the border you're talking about?

when i draw the squares, they have a border, then when i try and remove the border the face disappears also

The "borders" you're trying to delete I'm guessing are the edges, which you don't want to delete. You have to render the video in order to see the final product (Render->Render Image.../Render Movie...).

Starting out, perhaps you should try the other tutorials first and study the manual?

If it's not that, then please provide a screenshot of the problem or the file itself.

If you can see the border of your square it's because the square sticks out too much above the text plane. The square should be almost flush to your text plane.
