Anaglyph Stereo 3D
« on: April 13, 2009, 02:26:11 pm »

I've been using anim8or for years now. I have begun writing a short animated film that will be in anaglyph 3D. Anaglyph uses the Red-Blue or green glasses. I've been doing some test renders and put them togeather in this video. I mixed the left and right videos in Stereo Movie Maker. You can watch here (Be sure to click HD) ;D

Thanks  :)

Is there a special setting to do it automatically, 'cause that's not what I did. I just rendered it twice.

gosh!! ??? what am i talking about? i cant see it now,i'm sure anim8or
had this facility at some point in its life.
if not then i'm worried about the state of my mental health.
it seems i was confused by the stereo view facility.
extra applause for your efforts without automation.
was it a laborious process?

It really wasn't that hard, until you rotate the camera on the X axis. Then you have to animate it to stay in line with each other. To keep effects like fog and stuff, you just need to make sure that you make the camera you are rendering as camera 1. Composting is very hard. The smoke in one of the last scenes was a 2D element from Vision Lab that I comped in later to both videos. That is why it looks so bad and anim8or needs a particle engine. Another down side is you have to render twice which is a pain in the butt. Me and a friend are working on a short in 3D. Also, you have to render in a wider format so you can move the clips back and forth to get the desired effect. If you put the mid ground in the mid ground, then it looks better. Sorry, I'm babbling lol. I'm actually surprised that there isn't any more 3D stuff up here yet.

There is a link to this stereo program http://www.stereoscopy.com/downloads/ in "Resources", it might be easier :)
