Creative MuVO V100 MP3 player
« on: July 02, 2009, 04:24:58 pm »

Hi all.

I was wondering last night what to model. Something popular item in a house. I was listening music and then I realized that I was holding a MP3 player. Well I decided to model it.

I scanned two sides of my player so I can get proportions just right. Itīs also nice to look the real thing and see what needs to be done in 3D and how.

I usually model cars, but my PC is way too lame to handle the polys they recuire. I was formely know as "rallydriver" (nick) and Iīve done quite a pit of 3D cars in Anim8or.

Anyways here is a WIP image. You can see the "blueprints" that I use.

Nice model, its starting to shape nicely.
The textures you scanned are very good, I can't wait to see it rendered ;)
Oh and nice choice to model the MP3 Player :D

Awesome! I think it looks good how scanned images as textures gives it an "aged" effect. :)

Heh, I have the identical player myself, only mine's white.  It's been replced with an iRiver recently, but I always liked the way this machine's guts slid out of the battery carrier and could be shoved directly into a USB port, flash drive style.  Nice work so far, with a model like this the devil is in the detail, so to speak.

Thank you guys!

So I started it all over again, because all the bevels were inaccurate. Not much to see at the moment...but it keeps me motivated when posting into here!  :)
