Thanks for the compliments.  I made the basic models... EricAug detailed out the rocket, did the clouds, texturing and material details for the planet, and created the space backdrop, which is applied to sphere that encompasses the whole scene.

If you're ever in Seattle, even if just for layover at the airport, I'd be glad to drive up and meet ya for lunch!

Well, there were quite a few grande entries - so that's a pleasant surprise (to win, not that there so many good entries ;) ). Thanks for the kind words Tof and Tony and Kevin.

Hoh, just a joke. These 'competitions" are a good idea because they give us practice and using our imagination as well as our skills.
