Just a question. I am wondering where the DotAn8 Magazine went to. I have not noticed any new issues on there site so have they changed sites/stopped production/changed names/whatever?

At the moment, I will be quite honest with you, The contributions from members of the anim8or community have been extremely poor,  apart from Ensoniq5 and Falloffalot , who have been major contributors to the magazine. Other offers of Contributions have just never materialised, and it is sad to see that the majority of users are apathetic to  the magazine or unconstructive in other ways.

So, at the moment a planned issue that was in the pipeline has been put on hold until I have some reasonable articles.

However, I am now producing my own Video Tutorials, These are full quality Videos  with narration, something else that is lacking.

It is planned to have a full range of video tutorials to help new users to the program to get the most from Anim8or.
Showing modelling/texturing/Boning/Skinning/Animating
For an insight go to http://www.dotan8.com/html/anim8or_tutorials.html
It will eventually be a lot cleaner with thumbnail choices (as Youtube) but with better quality!

Some help I am giving one anim8or user by way of video,

http://www.anim8or.com/topic=2419.msg17877

Dotan8 is still and will always be online.
I would just like to see it put to more use .

If you have any ideas/contributions to either the magazine or any videos that you can produce then please do let me know.

Prove me wrong and show me that you are not as apathetic or fickle as I might suggest

Kreator,

If I get my goblin vid beyond basic goblin, would you like anything about its development? When done I hope to have it complete, with music, and sort of a first of several in the same theme.

I found a tutorial on original texture creation I made a while back in PDF format, I think Dotan8 went on hold before it was published.  Kev, if you don't have it let me know and I will FTP it to Dotan8 for any possible future issue release.  I am VERY short on time at the moment but I am planning to start a big project as soon as my work situation stops taking up every moment of my spare time, and I intend to keep a running journal during construction that could eventually be formulated into a tutorial or "making of" kind of thing.  I expect this project will take between one and two years, however, so it won't be anytime soon!

TO ALL ANIM8ORS!  If you have time PLEASE have a think about the things you have worked out for yourself regarding Anim8or, or hurdles you have successfully crossed, and have a go at building some sort of tutorial, and contact Kreator to arrange forwarding it.  The Dotan8 Magazine is an EXCELLENT resource that is sadly missed at the moment, please help your fellow animators by contributing your time and talents.

Texture tut uploaded to Dotan8\Tutorials.  I learned rather a lot about motion scripts making the steam tractor thing recently, hopefully I will have some free time soon and I will see if I can put any of what I learned into a format that might make it helpful to others.
