That does look very nice!
The issue with the mouth is that it's much too flat.  It should curve like the rest of the head!
Otherwise it's really looking pretty good!  Keep it up.

well i havent worked on this in a while but im back at it. i changed alot of stuff. i think its coming together now. i think i pretty much reconstructed his face but it will looks like how it was before. i think once i get all these damn loops figured out i can rework the detail.

edit: little update. i think i have the jawline in place. i dont think it will be this prominent when im done. but i think i have it in the right place.

heres a render with color and lights.

edit: just rendered a front view. i dont think it looks right. i think i need to widen his face. and definetly round him out.

edit2: idid the back of the head and i did the neck although i rendered this a little premiture. the material isnt goiung to be in the final but i just wanted 2 see what it would kind of look like. and i did make it lighter. here it is

i think i might be done for 2nite. this is my progress as of now. i rendered these in scaline cause it only takes a few seconds. i think i might have a hard time with the chest. cause i dunno what yodas chest would look like. at 1st i was going to make him really old be now i might make him younger. im not sure yet. anyways heres my renders.

edit: heres the wireframe

My only criticism right now is about general proportions of his face.  Are you using a reference image?
His face appears to be a bit taller and less condensed than what I've seen in references.  The ridge on the top of his head is a bit too straight and exact as well.

As for the chest, my advice would be to skip the chest (since he's so old it would be nasty anyways)
I'd do enough to fit a robe onto and have no gaps, but I don't think you need to go any further.

yea the front doesnt look right at all im going to have 2 figure out a good way to scale his face out. heres the reference i used. so i think the shape of his head is pretty dead on.

edit: i think i fixed his head. i saw that too but im going to tweak more later.

That's amazing how close the reference image you got him! I am really looking forward to the finished product!

Looks good!  My only crit is that the chin should be less sharp.  It looks to me like, in the reference image he doesn't have too much of a jaw, which makes sense at his age (the skin would hang down a little more a be less tight.)  Keep up the good work!

Q: where is his other eye? or did you purposely leave it out?

yea i havent even messed with the chin a whole lot. and im not so sure how im going to make the saggy skin. i just figured if i get a solid shape. i could go any way i want with it. i still have to tweak the brow and do the lips too.

i make the eyeball before im ready to do the eyesocket. this way i can get some depth and shape. i pretty much just use it like a ruler. but i always model on the left side. then i mirror it then join them to make 1 model. but the sphere isnt even a mesh but all i would have to do is mirror the sphere and it would go in the right place on the right side.

i started on the light saber partly because im a little stuck on the body and ill have to get it done sooner or later. and many many thanks to odp04y for that tutorial. it will help me alot. ill be back in a few days with more of it done.

thanks for the crits.

well its been awhile since ive even looked at this. but i tried my hand at texturing (i failed miserably, but ill try again soon) then i tried a bit of morph targets. it didnt take too long to figure out. mind you i didnt try hard at the morphs i just moved his face a little bit. anyway heres a video of what i did. i plan on finishing this little guy and actually make something cool with anim8or.

i figured i would just revive this topic instead of making a new one.

oh yea heres the link to my little animation

edit:

i reworked the jaw almost completely. redid the lips and ran my loops a different way. i cut out a few loops and im going to try and figure out a way to get the detail i had before. heres a wireframe and a render.
