My models aren't working
« on: February 20, 2008, 01:42:24 am »

When I create models, export them to d3d format, and then use them in Game Maker, they don't  display at all. This is becoming a pain. Help please.

I have done everything the tutorial says and it's not showing up and I can't figure out why. Another model I have made worked in Game Maker but the one I am trying to get to work now doesn't. By the way, I do have Game Maker pro and I am making a 3d game in it.
Edit: I noticed that using Join Solids makes the model unusable in Game Maker. I think this might be stuffing my model up.

Yeah I have played Game Maker. For some things you need Game Maker Pro to work. YOu can only use 2d graphics in Game Maker. You can use 3d hgraphics in Game Maker Pro though. Get pro and it will work!

They all used join solids, and are not grouped.

I do have gm7, I used join solids, the model is not grouped in fact, I have no idea why it's doing this. I've tried your suggestions and it's STILL NOT WORKING. Is there a polygon limit?

hmmm..well the maximun polygon for gm is like 20000 O.o, what are you using to get the d3d? is it the anim8or plugin? or are you using Marzipans? Mosaic light?  cuz the anim8or plugin have bugs in it, thats why i dont use it.

I use the Anim8tor plugin. Is the Anim8tor plugin glitchy or something because if it is I will try one of your suggestions.

well i try that out too and some of my models have holes in them, or missing faces, so i wouldnt recommend that, i would suggest using Dumont, search it at the GMC. It converts obj to G3D file, or if you can find Morzipan, that too is good.
