Animating with textures
« on: December 30, 2009, 04:11:23 am »

I was wondering if it was possible to switch the textures on an object during an animation.
For example, I want to do a simple model, and instead of using morph targets and different meshes for the eyes and mouth, what if I had a series of textures to map to the eye/mouth area and change them in an animation when I want to animate facial expressions?

Unfortunately materials are not currently animatable in Anim8or.  One solution would be to create a series of identical faces (or complete heads perhaps), each with a different material applied, and all faces/heads applied in the scene in the same location.  Which face/head is visible at any given time can be controlled using the visibility function for each face/head.
