Free video Editing software?

I need better editing software. Does anybody know where I can find a free software download? Has to be better than Windows Movie Maker.

I'm looking for something that is better than Movie Maker. Like when you do the fade in and fade out effect you can change the length of the effect.

I use Paint Shop Pro 8, and it's got a pretty decent animation shop included.
