I'm sure this has been asked dozens of times but I'm [just now] starting to learn animating things in Anim8or. (Anim8 and animating? lol) I never really was interested, but now I am.

Basically, I want to be able to animate my people and make them walk, talk, and move around, and at least make it believable. I know it's not instant or anything, so I'll be willing to take a while to learn it all.

But what I'd like is some tutorials for animating in 3D. Key frames (I have no idea, really) morph targets, (pretty good at them) and walk cycles. It'd also be nice if they were specifically made for Anim8or, but it doesn't really matter, I guess.  :)
Anything anyone shows me will be appreciated! Thanks! And forgive me if I have no idea what I'm saying above, because I've never really gotten into animation as I said. ;)

EDIT: I'd REALLY like to know about morph targets.. I just tried to animate a mouth and really can't figure it out anymore... I could only animate things like flags and stuff. :P Any good morph-target-talking-? tutorials?

Yeah, I just said this on my thread, but Kreator's tutorials are good. They are on the top of the General Anim8or Forum. He has some you're looking for.

i think most of it is using your imagination. but for using morphs all i did was the morph flag tutorial on the tutorials page. after u know how to use morphs it really up to you to make ur own morphs.

same goes with animating things. keyframes r just frames that go in sequence. the frame rate is how fast the keyframes show up. like say u make keyframe for frame 1. u make ur character in a pose and hit play all he will do is stand in that pose. but say u make another keyframe in frame 30. when u hit play this time he will go from your pose at frame 1 and move to frame 30.

thats probably the most basic way to explain it. but all u have to do is read the manual and ull b able to do it.

I mostly meant how to morph a mouth. Because I don't know what parts need animating.. I was watching some of johnar's animations last night and still couldn't figure it out.

When I morphed a mouth, I set up the lips to move vertically and out, the bottom lip usually will need to move with the chin. Then the corners should be able to be manipulated both vertically and horizontally. The teeth I did were separet and controlled by a bone (remember, the top of the jaw cannot move). With this setup, you should be able to get nearly any expression, with a little practice.

look up edge looping in faces. im pretty sure they r all the same for a reason. (for animation)

i think with morphs you have to think of each morph as a seperate model. or even a pose of a model. just work on expressions. like have 5 diff morphs with a sad angry happy etc. face. anim8or does the rest for you.
