Basics of a character
« on: May 01, 2010, 06:44:35 pm »

Well, I'm making a game for a cre8or challenge, and I just started today.
So far I have the begining of the character, I still need to add  clothes to it, the weapon and a few other things, but what I really need now is some opinions on the porportions of the body. In other words, does this character look like someone bash them over the head with a sledge hammer (cause thats how I described one of my first characters).
Thanks.  ;D

if character is a type of fug maybe fallout3 behemoth with its broad upper body and neck region ! would suit the character but if its victim then animated pose would be more important

reference bohemoth : image ignore its displacement textures just see its upper body silhouette

That's nice. I believe it is very usefull to use some anatomy references for modeling.

"someone bash them over the head with a sledge hammer" i was unsure if you meant the person with the hammer or the victim ,like daniel said i was just trying to give a 3d anatomical reference related to what you typed the behemoth carry's drainpipes because its the biggest of supermutant but most of them carry hammers

No, this character does not look like someone bashed them over the head with a sledge hammer.  This character looks proportionally pretty good!  You could use references on the internet to make sure, but from what I can see it looks solid.

Thanks guys, and I do use refernce images. I use multiple atomony refernces, then draw a rough sketch of my own, and use it. I can draw things proportionate, just last time I tried modeling it it became as I said before...
It looks like someone bash them over the head with a sledge hammer.
I guess it's time to make clothing then animate it for the game.
