Aluminum Can
« on: May 15, 2010, 08:26:02 pm »

Pretty simple; an aluminum drink can with inter-changeable labels, I've made a pepsi can label so far.

Edit: Added a Coke can label

Good stuff!  I feel that it could use a bit more of an aluminum shinier feel.  Perhaps add an environment map, and up the specularity a bit.
The labels looks solid.  I'd also be interested in seeing the top of the can!

Ask and you shall recieve!

Made it closer to aluminum.

The pop-top looks fairly bad, but from a distance you really can't tell. Sorry it doesn't look more shiny, that is my bad lighting.

Thanks for the compliment 3D Joe Wiltshire! It is way too high poly to put in the background of any scene, but if ever I make a scene that has a can in it I'll have this.

Neodelito, currently the specular is .4 and brilliance is 2. I'll see what amping up the specular does tomorrow.

Well Aric, here's what we can do, I'll post the mesh here on the forum, and you find a label to put on it.

Same applies to anyone, if you find a label that fits this can, go ahead and post it here! Then you can have a can for any animation you choose.

well done, in any case... was just having a bit of fun with ya.

I have modelled my own pop-can... actually was a taller thing intended to be used as an energy drink for a political joke.  Was to be the "Obama Energy Drink"... meant to keep you wired and jazzed all the way until complete and total wipe- and burn-out ;)
