3D Program I used to have.
« on: May 20, 2010, 01:55:43 pm »

I used to have this 3D modeling program, but it would never run on my computer for some reason, so I deleted it, and THOUGHT I had left it on a CD or something, but apparently not..  :(

So now I have a NEW computer! :D (Happened 3 days ago) and I can't seem to remember the name of the program or find it hidden away somewhere, hehe...

So I wanted to ask you 3Ders here if you could possibly tell me the name of it with the help of some details I'll give about it below. Thanks in advance. :)

Let's see.. It was called "3D xxxxxxxxxxxxx Lite". It had a pro and lite version, I think. I got the Lite, though, and it wouldn't run.
The site was beige (back in June/July 2009) and the forums were that color as well. It was kind of mostly for architectish models, but made other things as well. It had a large gallery of user showoffs (:P ) and I always loved to look at them. I wanted to make some stuff like that, too. But it wasn't the models and galleries that made me want the program, it was just the overall design of it, and the tools, and such. I can't remember any of the tools or anything because they were just mentioned briefly on the site and the program never would run..

So, there's some details about it, I sure hope someone knows of this program and can point me towards it,
Thanks again!

P.S. The new computer is awesome! It has 2.4Ghz, 2GBs of RAM, a 512MB ATI Radeon video card, and a nice and big hard drive. All the tools I need to anim8! :P Loving it, btw. Got it (with 2 LCD monitors, they're also awesome) for ~$100 dollars. Nice guy who sold it. Now I can run Cre8or, also! :D

Anyways, see ya!

Wings 3D? I don't know many other programs sorry..

Why are you looking to use a different program? Maybe to use NURBS or something you should look for a different program, but for poly modeling I find Anim8or to be quite good at whatever you want to make ;)

Congrats on the new computer, it sounds like a real bargain!

Nope, it's not one of the ones you guys have mentioned. But I'll take a look at the two links.

Why are you looking to use a different program? Maybe to use NURBS or something you should look for a different program, but for poly modeling I find Anim8or to be quite good at whatever you want to make ;)

Congrats on the new computer, it sounds like a real bargain!

I know that, and I don't want NURBS. But, I find it useful to have more than one program to model with. Anim8or is quite capable of doing anything you want, but sometimes it's easier to just go to a nicer program and use some of it's fancy tools. Kind of like when I go to Blender to reduce polys and use the smoothing tools it has. This program would be nice for texturing purposes, and some other things that I can't remember. :P

Also, it was a bargain, and a nice deal. Did I mention I'm loving this new thing? :P

Anyway, I hope I can find it somehow.
Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Found it! ;D Using Bob's link. :)

It's Delgine's DeleD 3D. http://www.creative-3d.net/3dlinks/links.cfm?categoryid=1&subcategoryid=2&page=2

Thanks for the help, guys.
:)

EDIT2: Hmm. It seems it's now Open-Source, and I don't have to pay for the Pro version. Cool! 8)

EDIT3: Yep! It's open-source! http://www.delgine.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3987
