Wow your good. I wish I have modeling skills like you.

Couldn't help but comment on this... You don't have 'skills' in 3D modeling. You just practice, practice, practice. Look at tutorials and don't let up. ;)

And FYI, I've been modeling for 21/2 years. :P

More News! For the most part I've finished the texturing, just some few minor details to fix up, so I thought I'd put it up here to get some of your thoughts on it. Also I thought I'd put up a bit of a teaser image of what the final product (video) is going to be. For those who don't know what "Recovery One" is, it's a machinima mini series made by RoosterTeeth productions, you can watch the original here http://roosterteeth.com/archive/?id=266. I plan to do a remake in anim8or of the first episode.

Ps.

I could not agree more with that statement! The first model i made was a beaver, that looked more like a blob.

PPs. Since everyone else answered I suppose I will to, I've been using anim8or for about 3 years now, give or take a few months.

Looking awesome! This is actually great work and might I ask (if nobody has already) how you textured?

My texturing is extremely bad lol, never have gotten the hang of it in the program or external softwares

sorry for the wait, I've got another update ready for you, I've got rid of the placeholder building I was using, and have begun construction on the rather large bridge/fortress that is the stage for this particular video, what I'm showing you is 1/3 of the whole thing (like I said, it's rather large). The whole thing probably won't be scene in this particular vid, but I'm hoping to recycle it a bit in future projects.

3D Joe Wiltshire: I didn't know much about texturing before this project either, just kinda forced myself to actually spend some time on it and it turned out ok. I found uvmapper to be extremely useful, the trick seems to be dividing your model up into groups in anim8or, then unwrapping each group separately. Also, I played around with sculptris as well, it seems quite good for texturing, but i haven't got to using it yet. Maybe i will on the building.

Gyperboloid: As far as I remember i don't think i used AA for any of the pics, I go for the quickest render times whenever possible.
As for being from Greece, I'm not, I just like the look of the ancient greek letters (I assume your asking because of my choice of symbols in the title), and thats how the title looks in the original too.

It's been awhile.

Unfortunately due to school work i haven't gotten a lot more done on this project (I am still working on it, just slowly.)
however I thought i'd post some concept shots of some terrain and water tests.
Built and textured in sculptris. Rendered in anim8or using ART.

I like the water, nice reflection/refractions. The gras and rock could use some work. You might want to scale down the texture and apply a bumpmap.

Just remembered I haven't posted an update about this project in forever. It's still going, a little slower then I had expected but still going.
Thought I'd leave you all with a test render of a walk cycle I've been tweaking.
It can be found here:

Decided I would rework the model a bit. Adding a little bit more detail and improving the topology in joint areas.

PS. Three years of using Anim8or and it's still surprising me, I just discovered the edge extrude tool and it's making my life so much easier.

Thanks Arik I knew somthing was off but i couldn't quite place it.

I've altered some proportions, unwrapped and started texturing the new model.

quick update, trying out a simple colour layer with the texture, added some more detail, rendered in art this time.

It's looking great! Very nice texturing. Is this just the default lighting?

Proportioning looks better... A lot of work you've done! I would suggest making the hands a bit larger, and the lower legs and boots a bit smaller. But then, I am also a nitpicker, so don't take it wrong. I can overkill in the criticism department sometimes...

Arik as far as I'm concerned there's no problem with being a nitpicker if your good at it!
Any way i got a few bits to share, first an updated walk cycle,

Second a little teaser image that I rendered cus I was bored. The teaser's rendered in art and the final project probably wont be, but other then that the render quality from the teaser is what I'm aiming for for the final.
