Invisble points and edges
« on: July 24, 2010, 03:05:50 pm »

I have been following the tutorial for creating a head (of myself) found at http://members.multimania.nl/jonim8or/head_tut.html and have found that I cannot get the points and edges to make themselves visible.

I am in Object/Edit mode (in Wireframe), using the Add Edge button and shift-left-click-dragging and releasing to create the edges.  Apparently the edges are created; when I do this and check Options->Info, the count of Points goes up by two and the Edges count goes up by one.  I just can't see where I put them.

So, where did I go wrong?  Can anyone give me a hint?

If you are using a reference image then you may have to move it back just a bit to let the points show through.

Ah.  How can I do that?  I did use reference images (of myself, front and left).

In object mode, select the reference image like you would select any other object, and then use the move tool and move the reference image away from the direction you will be looking at it. You can move it either by using middle mouse button and moving your mouse around until you see your points that you made, or you can switch to another view and move it that way.

a trick u can use for reference images is make them semi transparent. to do this just make a simple plane and add the reference image as a texture. after that u can set the transparency to what ever u like.
