looking at downloaded model again.
« on: April 25, 2011, 06:22:24 pm »

just wondering how anim8or works with something I downloaded a while back.

It cam ein a *.3ds, *.b3d, *.cfx, and a *.ms3d format.
It is also suppose to be framed and animated.

Unfortuantely I amo only able to open it up in *.3ds and any boning an dskinning doesn't seem to be there.

Am I missing something?

As far as I know, you can only import the model file. I'm not at home so I can't check what else is accepted.

Anim8or has a different way of making figures and sequences if I understand correctly. Though there's a project involving motion capture data but it's still being worked out.

so I am back to starting from scratch :(

Ok next question: is there a way of exporting individual frames of a sequence to bmp/gif/png files? I thought I saw something on that but I am failing to find it right now

when u save your animation render u can do it in avi but underneath the selection is a button to save in jpeg. make sure u create a folder for it. each frame is a pic so ull have a bunch of them.

a lot of people like to render in jpeg or bmp because incase something happends (like anim8or crashing) they will have all the pics saved. so all they have to do is render from where it left off. also you can render in sections. say u render stuff when u sleep but its going to take 40 hours to render. it just makes things easier i think.

Also when rendering to a image sequence, there is less loss of quality and will give you more control in post-production.
