ART Ray Tracer problem!!
« on: April 22, 2011, 06:15:51 pm »

I'm stuck in a huge rut right now.... I'm working on a scene which requires complex reflections to be composited into a live-action scene. I built a nice-looking 3d claw/robo arm that uses a mid Kr value... I'm trying to render it in a scene where there's a character who's standing inside the arms, kinda where they;re attached to his back. BUT, I need the reflections on the robo-arms while the character is invisible. I want to not see the character, but still see the reflection. Is this possible? Thanx

You could do a render without the character to get the reflections, then one with the character in and merge the two images.
