3d text with custom font..
« on: March 27, 2008, 04:21:15 pm »

Hi all,

I am trying to make 3d text with custom font. Fisrt I tried to write text in paint and use is as a height map in Terrainim8or, but if I set high division settings I get loads of points (loads of work to simplify object), if I set low division settings I lose font details (loads of work dividing and fixing obj).
Maybe anyone knows better solution before I start the hardwork ???

Thank you.

I would use splines... If you create the text in paint program, you can use it as reference image, draw the splines and extrude it...

here's an easy solution i have found (after being told by someone else)

just wrie up your text using the insert text tool in anim8or and double click on it, it should be pretty obvious once you see the properties
