Grass, Water and Magic Mushrooms
« on: March 31, 2008, 08:03:20 pm »

Well - I couldn't help myself with the mushroom thing - My last posted pic recieved some fun words from friends at church - so I'm having some more fun. Enjoy the Shrooms - No I didn't always go to church - No I never did shrooms.  :D

heh, all I can say is it's trippy :P

I like the look of the pond with the grass growing through it: it looks real (just shiny enough, just transparent enough). However the mushrooms themselves are just too shiny and oddly coloured. Maybe that was your intention, but I just think it looks weird with the top half cartoony and the bottom half so realistic.

If you notice, the stems are reflective - and yes that is the look I was going for - real to strange = real strange LOL! Thanks for input. The file size for this project is over 50meg. I could delete some things in the file, but that would only bring it down about 5meg. The grass will get ya! The background pic is from a 28meg BMP - Why? I don't like pixelation so I use big files for quality. All the texture and background art are from work that I have done in other programs.

that's totally bizarre, but i love it :D  i agree with dosser that the water/grass combo works really well.

just wondering, could we see the background fractal on its own?  and what program did you use to make it?  i've been curious about making fractals, but i don't want to start spending money on it, so if you're using something that's freeware, then could you send the link?  thx :)

I love it!  It looks like a Spyro the Dragon level.  Lovely work on the water and nice composition.  I also like using hi-res backgrounds, and making massive files.  I am currently working on a castle, which half finished has an Anim8or file size over 287MB.  No doubt my CPU will uproot itself from the motherboard and walk out in protest if I ever get to rendering it!

If you can still get it, it is called Tierazon and it is freeware. Been using it for a few years now. I've been invited to an art show when I get enough prints made. I only print on canvas. I am very protective with my fractal art and copyright it. I'll share this one.

i've downloaded tierazon, and had a little play with it; looks pretty cool, but it keeps crashing.  i guess i'll just need to experiment more... and i'll try and remember to post my first decent fractal piccy, if/when i get round to doing one :D
