Little Tricks
« on: February 01, 2015, 12:34:32 am »

Don't you just love it when you 'stumble' onto a little trick in Anim8or, and think, thats cool, didn't know you could do that.
 I found 1 today...

Did you know that..... in Object Mode when you open the object dropdown list, you can select an objects name by pressing its first letter on the keyboard?
Then, to go to that object, just press enter.
 Lol.... How cool!.....

Heres 1 i picked up off the forum a while back, i think it was raxx....
You can Right Click and drag the materials bar up and down
...far out....These little tricks that stick in your memory........

Feel welcome to add to this thread, with any nifty little tricks that you've found, (or learnt), that have stuck with you since that fateful day...... I will......

  • You can also right-click and drag the left toolbar up and down, and scrolling with the mouse scroll also works.
  • With the New Bones tool, right-clicking to create a bone lets you keep adding more bones afterwards.
  • If you want to do rapid adjustment of bones in your whole figure (at least, until fast edit is implemented for figure/sequence editor), select all of the bones and then use the rotate bone tool on any bone without having to swap between select/rotate.
  • Invisible materials cast shadows. It's a shortcoming, yes, but also a means to do cool tricks with shadows.

I thought that was standard in any program, johnar. I've been doing that for years! :S
Cool tricks, Raxx

I was having trouble selecting points. I could drag select them, but not single points with a click.
Uh oh, could be a bug in the latest development build.
Went back to an earlier version.....hmmm, thats strange, having the same problem here as well.
Then it hit me, NOT a bug!..........just cheap batteries in a wireless mouse.
 Problem Solved.

          ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My computer started printing out 777777777s all on its own. Random, and real annoying.
Uh oh, could this be a virus.....
 Scan.......nothing found.....hmmmm....Google!
...answer...keyboard fault.....hooked up another keyboard.....
..good old hardware  peripherals...

was something sitting on the 7 key?  :D
I tend to have some issues selecting points and faces. About half the time, I can't select them unless I'm in a flat-face or wireframe view
