Windows 8 Problems
« on: April 22, 2015, 05:21:30 pm »

Hey guys, long time no see. I've actually geared myself more toward traditional 2D animation lately, so I haven't been using 3D all that much.

So recently my Windows 7 computer finally fried after 4-5 years of it running well. Something with the power supply making it start smoking. Nothing like a computer that's a fire hazard, am I right?

Anyway I got a new computer with Windows 8, only to find that Anim8or won't run anymore! All of my other programs that are for Windows 7 and earlier work fine, and I'm in Desktop view. When I first ran the program, it opened, and then instantly said "The program has stopped working" and disappeared. Ever since then, every time I click on the icon, nothing happens at all. I have tried both version 0.98 (what's posted to the website) and 1172, which is posted as the latest update hear on the forums. Neither of them work. I've also tried compatibility mode, and the program still won't run.

Help?

Update: I figured out how to set it to compatibility mode for Windows XP and it works now... hehe

  • Couldn't ever use Blender or Maya. Anim8or's good.

CORIII! I've been thinking about you lately, wondering where you were. (nothing weird... just kicked up my mlp fandom/brony-ism is all)

I haven't tried Win8 so I can't comment further. Hopefully you get it working!
