In Search of TOS Battlestar Galactica
« on: November 08, 2015, 02:11:43 am »

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for all the help. I am wondering if anyone has had more luck locating a good 3d model of the original Battlestar Galactica? I have searched and searched. I cannot find a decent model.

Try https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/search.html?q=Battlestar%20Galactica&backendclass=entity&hl=en

You might have to convert any files. Even better though, have a go at doing your own with Anim8or!

Those are sketchup files. Can they be used with anim8or? They do not seem to be very good quality models.

Yes I know they are sketchup Files ;D

You can use them once converted to .obj files attached image is shown.

Downloaded .skp file for one of the models then exported with Zbyls obj exporter.

But as I mentioned in my first post it would be far better for you to make your own models rather than using other modellers creations.

This way you can make your own model to your own specifications, detail wise. I don`t expect the creators of these models would appreciate your comments in view of the time it takes to make a model!

Battlestar Galactica and Pegasus together.

I Got this model of the TOS Galactica, but cannot get the markings or the name plates on the sides to work. How do I use Anim8or to add the red markings and the name plate?
