Creating edge loops
« on: January 25, 2022, 10:16:59 am »

Is there an easy way to create a new edge loop in an object? The only way I see is divide each edge to create a new vertex in the middle then connect each one manually.

Thanks,
Daniel

You can also use the Topographical Knife tool to do this. Or you can first select the edges that you want to connect, then use the Edit->CutEdges command to split theme exactly in the middle, and then connect the middle points with the Add Edge tool.

I'm kinda late, but since it's never too late... ;)
If the goal is to create an edge loop and not just to connect edges, if the topology ofcourse allows to do so , use the Quad Ring Select command from Edit->Select menu and then use the Connect Edges command from the same Edit menu.

Thanks, I never thought of that. It's not too late since I am still using the software after getting the new book about it.
