Falling water
« on: January 21, 2026, 10:02:08 am »

Modeled in Anim8or. Bryce textures/renders with rotation of water texture on lower bit of falling water.

Any guidance about how many frames a person needs to make the repetition less noticeable?

FWIW, Steve's approach to the animation section is far less complex than Bryce's. Ended up just generating the individual images in Bryce and used GIMP to make the gif file.

  • Couldn't ever use Blender or Maya. Anim8or's good.

You probably have heard - you usually want 12fps minimum for it to register as relatively 'fluid' animation for most people (pun not intended).

I would use a timer to estimate how long I want the loop to be in seconds and use that. I would personally think maybe 5 seconds, 60 unique frames - and you can always mix and match for a more random/less repetitive look.

Very cool!

@ davdud101 - Thanks for the response. I'll take a look. Have a bit more motion with this version:
