Gravitational Lensing
« on: June 15, 2026, 08:23:56 pm »

The other night I had a dream that I made a black hole in Anim8or with a functional gravitational lensing effect created with a Transparent class object. I did it in real life and it worked! Well... for the most part. The "lens" caused a shadow that I'm not sure if it's possible to get rid of. If anyone is still around and has an idea, let me know! If I can get rid of that shadow, I could potentially make something really cool with this idea.

Not bad, very creative solution. As for the shadow, no ideas off the top of my head. It's obviously created by the thickness of the refractor mesh, I'd have to play with it myself to see if there's a way around it :)
