Ah, Anim8or.
My once loved 3D Modeling and animation software of choice. Back when I was a much younger lad. When 3D Studio Max was $3,500 for a single seat license and I hoped to learn 3d on my old Pentium powered PC with 64mb of RAM and a 3DFX Voodoo 3 GPU from Gateway.
I remember being soo enthusiastic about Anim8or I would carry around a copy on a 3.5 inch floppy disk [the thing that looks like the "save" icon for the younger ones.] to school. I would take it to the computer lab or library and run Anim8or and save my .an8 files to the same floppy I had Anim8or on. Oh good times indeed.
Anim8or taught me soo much about 3d modeling and animation when it was all I used into my early adulthood. I have fond memories of being a cringy teen, and interacting with Jeb and Raxx and all the other guys from my time. And Steve. Man, I like so many of the other ADHD individuals that have sought refuge in these hollowed forum walls, have idolized you during that time.
As I can see, the forum is basically non-existent. I check up here and there as most do. But the sun is getting real low around here.
I on the other hand moved on like many who desired more to Blender many years ago. Back in 08-09. And I have built a career around it. I know the insides and outsides of that program and teach it to anyone willing for free. Just because I like to give back to the next young person who desires to learn 3d modeling.
But I still speak fondly of Anim8or. I will keep a download of the latest version of Anim8or around just incase Steve ever decides to sunset this wonderful site. Also Steve, the gist of your hand tutorial I learned when I was 10 is what I have been using as peoples first 3d model when I teach Blender. But each time I do it, I bring up where I originally learned it.
Anyways, I'll check back sometime.
Cheers everyone.
