TheMasonX's Red Sedan
« on: July 13, 2008, 02:15:11 am »

I worked on this car a little last night, and some today. I've basically finished, although I suffered a setback when my power went out. I hadn't saved the headligts, nor was i completely finished but that was about it. The only object on here worth anything is the one named Car (self explanatory). Here's a pic:

I made it through the line tool, and then extruded it, though the caps didn't quit work so I used the same process to create the sides. Nothing I did would correctly smooth the edges, so the edges are very sharp.

Overall, I'd have to say that I'm pretty plead for a few hours work on my first object that's more than a 3D "doodle."

Hi! You have a nice start here!

you should definetly give the car some more shape by getting a blueprint or somthing in top view, and make it a bit less, uhm.. how do you say.. Boxy :P

anyways, good potential. How long have you been using anim8or?

A year, but something like 8 months of that was spent without a computer, so I was getting rusty.

Just a suggestion, TheMasonX ---
Don't post BMP files, 'cuz they're generally memory hogs, and take forever to download off the web.  JPEGs are far smaller, and are more than sufficient for WIP postings.

Thanks, I used the latest picture I had (after the power faliure). The texture map for the ground is oddly distorted; I love the way it looks, but it was ment to look like paver bricks. It look nice, but changed when rendered.
