Nice work Janro! What a shame tere is only one project here... This challenge idea give me inspiration (in te way of the Raxx's suggestion, "optical illusion, image that seems to move"), I'll probably try something in this way later (probably end december).

Here is my entry. I made the adds I wanted.
For the credits:
- Textures (wood and tiles) from lemog.fr (customized in Artweaver for my use)
- Beans: from "Colruyt" (low cost supermarket in Belgium)
- Modelling, texturing, an render in anim8or
- Accessory renders in anim8or (depht channel, light rays in the shadow of the glass, shadow of the fork, AO)
- post production: Artweaver (the most) and Gimp (DOF)

Glad to see that more people join the game, I hope to see a lot of finished works (mainly mine, of course ;) )
I'm now done with my main render! It has taken 60 hours but I find it wonderfull how anim8or made the diffractions throw the glass!
Now going to accessory renders and post production (AO, DOF, trying to simulate the light rays on the table in the shadow of the glass and add the shadow of the fork that curiosly dont appears...)

I usually make a low quality test render (AA off) of my scenes to control if everything seems OK.
I had the idea today to evaluate the render time with the time taken by this test render. I tryed it with a small scene and come to this result:
render time for the quality render
if AA=4 : 4 x render time with AA off
if AA=9 : 9 x render time with AA off
etc...(I tried 16 and 25 too, I presume it is the same for all value, and that some of you don't need a test to know that!)
Simple and I think helpfull to limit the AA to get a correct render time (I actually have a render in the oven with AA set at 49 that will certainly take +/- 70 hours on my poor old computer...Boring.
It can work too with the image size (a 800x600 render will probably take 4x the time of a 400x300 render)

Nice challenge idea and the first test renders here are nice.
Maximilianibus; its a good start, you could try to make your texture fit better (apply face to face or try a UV MAp) and perhaps subdivide one more time.
Her is what I have so far, I hope to have time to finish my scene this time...

Nice start Josmic8or an d DragonSlayer, I hope a lot of ather join the game, It's a fun one, the first time it is allowed to make the pig!
Some progress on my side...
I'm almost done with modeling, just to subdivide one time and add/adjust a few details.
Hope I can make this, the UV mapping and begin the texture tomorow. It's important for me to complete the pig this weekend because I need time to do the scene I want (only a still render, but rather complex)

There is another trick I read on the forum a few months ago and that works good:
Create your object with 20 sections, in point edit mode select all the edges between the sections, select the bevel tool and adjust... done, you get 40 sections! (and you can experiment to use that in other ways, it's really cool)
Hope I explane correctly and this can help.

Congratulations to all for your amazing entries (the entry of Daniel99, one of my prefered, gets only 1 vote!?) and thank you for my 3rd place partaged wit NickE, the great plugin writer (I especially like Nicke's mesh2mesh plugin!)
See you all in a next challenge, but before, I'm working on a special project...coming (not so) soon.
