General Anim8or Forum / Sequence vs. Scene woes

Hi

So I have set up a well boned character (thank you johnar).  I pose him up in the sequence mode.  He starts with his right arm down and his right hand down.  He is moving the wrist bone as if he is strumming a guitar.  Everything looks good in sequence mode.  However, when I create a new scene and add the figure, and then add the sequence, he has arm straight out but his hand is strumming.  His are should be bent like in the first frame of the sequence.  Any ideas?

Hi

I am working on a test animation which requires basically 2 movements but a lot of them.  I was able to select a range of frames.  But when I did a CTL-C and CTL-V, nothing happened.  Is this action possible?

General Anim8or Forum / Importing Exporting

Hi

I imported a 3ds file; a palm tree.  It has a texture file that came with it.  That imported nicely.  However, I paintedd the leaves green, saved it as an .an8 file, and exported it back to a .3ds.  I then imported it to a 3D game engine (copper cube) and the leaves aren't green and I am not sure why.

Hi

I am adding a texture to a surface and instead of seeing one instance I see 4 of the textures.  I tried quadrupling the Wand H in the texture map to no avail.  Searched the forums and found nothing relevant which I found strange

Hi All

I just tried rendering this model.  I am able to render once in the Scene Mode  then, It doesn't render but it left the post menu side bar.  This only happens to me in the v 1.0; not the beta 1.0.   Any ideas?

General Anim8or Forum / Character building

Hi Gang

Long time.  I have some vacation time and I am devoting a good portion of it learning Anim8or.  I am building a character from 2 reference pictures and its coming along nicely.  I have a torso and a leg (yay!)  I am just going to copy the leg and the arm I make.

Whats the best way to join the extremities to the torso?  This will be a fully rigged character to be animated.

Hi All

I am trying to make an in ground swimming pool.  I am having a problem with importing my pool into 2 other programs.  When I render my pool in Anim8or i get my results: a transparent water layer.  But in the other programs, its like a bright white sheet.  I have to admit, I am having an issue with wrapping my brain around the whole lighting and material subject.  But if I was successful in Anim8or, why wouldn't my results carry over to the other programs?  Ultimately I am try to make a nice .fbx low poly in ground pool to use in Muvizu

First, glad to see all the artists still making awesome stuff with Anim8or!

Got the anim8or bug again (after wrestling with Blender) and I am working on a jet plane.  Wondering what would be a good start for a wing?  Especially making the edges curved in front

General Anim8or Forum / My environment pic is too dark

Hi All

I want to render a simple static object for a pic.  And when I try to add a background pic, it's too dark and I do not know how to brighten in up.  I tried messy with the lights to no avail.


Help?

I have been experimenting with a program called CopperCube.  I think CopperCube has a problem with anything BUT textures, when you import an OBJ file into it.  Here is an example of a very easy model.  Some nice person from this from this forum provided me with the Earth texture!

Hi

I exported one of my Anim8or modes as both an .obj file and a .3ds file.  I imported the files into a program I am playing around with (Coppercube).  Why didn't my colors and materials get imported with the model?

I am working on a model.  I have some faces selected.  I tried to merge them and Anim8or complained: Can't fill holes.  So I left the faces selected and chose "Fill holes".  Still can't merge :/

General Anim8or Forum / The Cut Tool

Hey gang

I am trying to wrap my brain around the cut tool and I think I may have learned how to use it correctly, but want to confirm.  If I cut some faces, say for instance through a sphere.  It will make a new set of points and edges.  I simply "select all" the new points and edges and hit delete and there is my cut effect.  No matter where I put the cut line; through the middle of the face, a 1/3 down, 2/3 down, that will be the face(s) selected to be cut. In other words I can't cut the faces in half or any other increment

Hope this makes sense.  :-)
