cooldude: I actually ended up finishing the project in blender, the IK rigs and quicker render times were very tempting. I should also mention that even with 'quick rendertimes' this still took the better part of a week and a half to render.

Nice job. Your models look great and I really like the hologram scene.
Definitely a lot of work done animating and rendering.
I too use Blender for scene set ups (animation and renders), since 2.5 when it became user friendly.
But it's still the almighty Anim8or I start with.
