How the heck do I round an edge?

I must be missing something, cause no matter what I do I can't round a single edge of an object, I don't want the whole object subdividing.
I just need one or two edges rounded. What the heck am I doing wrong?  :o

A thing you can do is higher up the smooth angle of your object. Just double click on the object and you will see 'smooth angle 45'. Try out increasing the smooth angle for the right smoothing of your edges.

That still effects the whole object.

With floyd's method you could then use edge properties to make the rest of the edges you want sharp, but that could take a while.
I'd advise just cutting more edges between the two edges you want smoothed, you can then reposition the edges to get a smooth curve.  Once there are a few edges in-between, the low smooth level will effect the faces with the smaller curve.
