Version 0.98 not working for me
Steve:
I'm looking into this. There are a lot of moving parts. It would help if everyone can post the About->SystemInfo data as well. You can post it using older versions of Anim8or, of course.
johnar:
Thanks Steve
Possibly more info here than you need, (possibly not enough). hopefully not confusing.
Info from build 1103 and build 1097 on Windows 7. (working)
OS Version Windows 7 (6.1) Build 7600
Compatability set to Win xp Service Pack 3.
(When Checkbox in Compatability mode is not ticked, it reverts to:
OS Version Windows 7 (6.1) Build 7600)
Build 1103:
OpenGL Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL Renderer: GeForce 7800 GT/PCI/SSE2
OpenGL Version: 2.0.0
OS Version: Windows XP Service pack 3 (5.1) Build 2600
Build 1097:
OpenGL Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
OpenGL Renderer: GeForce 7800 GT/PCI/SSE2
OpenGL Version: 2.0.0
OS Version: Windows XP Service pack 3 (5.1) Build 2600
Both these builds, and all pre 1103, (inclusive) seem to work in all compatability modes, 95, 98, NT, 2000, vista etc...
When i get to the next build, 1112, and onwards.
If set to compatability for Win Xp SP3, the 'user account control' dialog pops up with the "do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer?"
I click yes, the busy wheel turns for a few seconds, and then nothing.
Anim8or shows in the processes as running.
If i don't put a tick in the compatability mode checkbox, the 'user account control' dialog does not open. The busy wheel turns for a few seconds, and then nothing. Anim8or shows in the processes as running.
For me, all versions are working under windows XP, with all compatability modes.
System info from XP, running anim8or 1122, with no compatability mode set:
OpenGL Vendor: Microsoft Corporation
OpenGL Renderer: GDI Generic
OpenGL Version: 1.1.0
OS Version: Windows xp, service pack 3 (5.1) build 2600
Heres hopeing some of this info is helpfull
Steve:
johnar: Yes, that's useful. I made some changes in cl-1107 that might be the cause. At least that's what appear to be the most likely changes. Can you try 1106 and 1107 and see how they behave? If 1106 works and 1107 doesn't it will save me a bunch of hunting through other chang lists!
There are some bugs in them so please don't distribute them without a warning.

Thanks

johnar:
Am doing that now. Will be 15 minutes.
johnar:
YES. THEY BOTH OPEN.
Awesome. Hopefully good news for future progress updates. Far out Steve You the man.
