Why just 2? An Intel  core 2 quad has 4 cpus...

Another  possibility is to write a plugin to use Gelatto, a renderer of nvidia, very fast. This kind of think we users can do, who's volunteer??

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Small bug on plugins
« on: April 14, 2008, 11:49:44 pm »
Hi folks,

I think I've found a bug when using parametric meshs plugins: if one figure is built using a parametric mesh, then when you open the anim8or file and go to scene mode WITHOUT first visiting the objects that are parametrics AND are used in figures, the scene editor refuses to build the parametric meshs whit this message (using the four wall plug-in):

Parametric  plug-in:
four wall
failed to return a mesh used to build:
four wall01

In old anim8or versions, the message also appears in the DOS window:
Executing script "I:\Anim8or\Scripts\4wall.a8s":
error on line 47: 'shape.Open()' command encountered when not in object mode
error in script - execution terminated.

Thanks for the answer... yeah, I've used the wrong term: by shortcuts I meant to say hotkeys.

Right,
but how can I define a shortcut?

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Suggested features - very simple :)
« on: March 24, 2008, 10:48:53 am »
Hi Steve,

I've been playing with Anim8or a few months, and it's my first post in this forum, so I have a some suggestions. I have no idea of their complexity... they only seems simple to me...  :)

Please, read them and feel free to say that all these suggestions are foolish.

1) Non parametric scripts could accept parameters, in the same way the parametric ones.

2) It could be possible to read/write attributes from parametric shapes from scripts (ASL). It would be very usefull for some repetitive tasks, like modifying only some parameters of the shape by a script. There is a similar feature in controller scripts.

3) Why not allow a uniform scaling factor attribute, like rotation? not asking so much, it would be very nice if this attribute had a controller for animations...

4) Non-exporting ASL scripts could write to files. Not only useful for debug, but for automating a lot of repetitive tasks, saving the work in a file and manually importing this file.

5) Finally, I think this is the easiest one: how about defining shortcuts for scripts?

I think scripts are a very powerfull tool, not only for parametric shapes but for implementing a lot of specific user features that you can't have time to do.

"Long live and prosper" for Anim8or!!

Hi Steve,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! It's a very nice step!

I'm in love with Anim8or! It is a very compact program with tons of functionalities, and very easy to play with.

Cheers,
Geraldo
