Hi,
I am trying to create a scene similar to twentieth century fox intro, but with my own logo etc. I already have the scene, I am able to create the rotating flying camera, but I cannot find out how to create the light cones. I found some articles here.
but I am not able to figure out the right parameters for the light cone (using modified subdivided mesh). Does anybody have some already "well-tried" material for it?

thanks much  :)

PS: use Anim8or 0.97d Beta, but I also have the older versions

General Anim8or Forum / Simple whole scene rotation
« on: February 01, 2010, 04:11:14 am »
Hi,
I would like to create intro for our research videos with a logo of our institute. I would be a little allusion to Twentieth century fox intro. I have our logo on  the pedestal and would like to create only short animation where this whole scene rotates - the same way as in case of Fox. Is there any simple way to achieve smooth animation of this? Doing this manually looks difficult, maybe to write some code directly in the an8 file?

thanks

General Anim8or Forum / Joined solid and transparency
« on: June 08, 2009, 10:14:39 am »
Hi all,
I am very curious if is it possible to use transparency for joined solids without seeing the border of the source primitives. Lets say that I made the dolphin (like the one on the splash screen) and want to make it look like from glass. I am able to create the dolphin from cubes and other primitives, join them and use subdividing to get the final shape. But when applying the transparency, I see those borders inside. Is it possible to get rid of them?

thanks

PS: I know I can use something made by lathe and modify the shape, but it is not so comfortable

General Anim8or Forum / TXT regular grid import to Anim8or

Hi all,
for some project I needed to get my interpolated maps from SAGA gis ( www.saga-gis.org ) to Anim8or for better visualization of the data. I discussed it with some guy and he created small utility, which is able to convert XYZ data in such format:

-3.500000,-3.700000,187.473892
-3.450000,-3.700000,189.581390
-3.400000,-3.700000,191.790817
-3.350000,-3.700000,194.109314
-3.300000,-3.700000,196.544067

and converts them into OBJ file, which can be loaded in Anim8or

you can download it here and have a try:
