General Anim8or Forum / Do textures not update automatically?
« on: November 02, 2018, 02:33:02 am »
So I just recently started using anim8or again after some years and I'm starting to miss a feature that Ive been taking for granted in other 3d programs. As I'm working on a texture in photoshop, after I save it I usually see the texture updated right away (works great when texturing with a dual screen setup). But when I work on a texture Anim8or doesn't update until I click on the Material, click T on Diffuse for Textures, then click the {…} button, click the texture image, then the load button. That's a lot of clicks!

Is there a way to have the textures update automatically once the image has been edited and saved?

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Something quick I put together
« on: November 02, 2018, 02:17:52 am »
I was excited to try Anim8or V1.0 to make something simple. I already have the rig done. Gonna start working on animations later on. I find that this program is great for low-poly stuff (sub 1000tris). This would be a prototype for an enemy in a game I might make. Model uses a single 512 Texture, (probably should have used 256 but my texture skills kinda suck).

General Anim8or Forum / Its been a loooong time...
« on: August 02, 2014, 04:17:04 pm »
It's been so long since I've stopped by these forums. I just want to thank the anim8or community for helping me and inspiring me to get into 3d modeling. I can't believe I started with this program, and I was happy to see a full 0.98 version out. I moved on to 3ds max but I will always every once in a while, open anim8or and start doing things. This program is and has always been, the BEST inroduction to 3d modeling.

One of my favorite video game characters was killed off recently in the story of The King of Fighters XIII. So I decided to make a model and render an image of this cool character...

General Anim8or Forum / Where to sell?
« on: May 27, 2011, 03:41:27 pm »
I've been thinking about making some naruto models and selling them but I don't know where to start. If any of you sell your models then maybe you could help me out. I want to sell the models low poly, textured, and in an8, obj, and 3ds formats. So...

What is the best (most trusted) website to sell these models?
How much should I charge per model? ( i was thinking low price, like $5.00 per model or something)

I'm not trying to advertise in any way, I just want these questions answered thats all.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Original Character

Here is an original character that I made. I didn't really use textures because I don't have photoshop anymore, so a lot of the details are modeled. Feedback is appreciated!

General Anim8or Forum / Object/Viewpoint Mode?
« on: March 23, 2011, 07:08:40 pm »
So I have practically mastered all the hotkeys for anim8or and it has improved my workflow alot! I was just wondering what is the Viewpoint mode for anyways? Everytime i want to orbit, pan, and zoom around my object i just have to hit ctrl+r and use the mouse buttons left an right, as well as the mousewheel. So why waste time putting it in viewpoint mode.

I've also noticed that viewpoint mode also has a frame view button which can be easily done by pressing f. Once I learned this, I haven't gone into viewpoint mode ever since.

My first attempt at modeling in this style.

I'm still not that good at texturing because I focus most of my time on the model.

General Anim8or Forum / Big problem please help!!!
« on: November 01, 2010, 11:16:06 pm »
I got a new computer and downloaded anim8or and it doesnt want to start! I don't get it. My old computer was with vista and anim8or ran ok. But this new computer runs on vista too and yet it wont start up.

Heres what happens: I click on the anim8or app, then the window opens but the workspace is white but I can still use the toolbars. I tried running on the XP compatibility mode and I tried running it as administrator but it doesnt work!

Could someone please help me with suggestions? Anim8or is the primary use of my computer and I'm right in the middle of a project.

So when I started using Anim8or for the first time last year I wanted to make human like
characters. However, everytime I would look for tutorials on youtube I was constantly disappointed by everyone always using a reference image, set it in the viewports, and use that as a guideline. Personally I never liked the idea of having the person done for you already. I understand that professionally, reference images are used for getting the details very accurate. I can't draw at all so drawing my own reference image was out of the question. To me, using reference images setup in the viewport is like having half of the work done for you. I have never used that method for creating a human character. Instead I just practiced modeling over and over again until I devised my own methods of character modeling. Im still not perfect but I just want to know if anyone else models without having reference images in the viewports. In my video all I do is import an image of a character that someone drew for me and asked if I could model and animate it. All I do is look at the picture and start modeling. You'll see what i mean. And I mean no disrespect for anyone who models with reference images in viewports. It just seems like nobody out there creates characters from scratch (no disrespect). Search for Kamagoi4521 on youtube and check out the High poly character modeling video on my channel. Im not finished with it yet as I am editing the other parts of the video.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / CGI Project Fail

Here is one of my characters from a movie that will probably never get done. But I intend to create a lot of cool action sequences for the characters that I create and just do a normal project.
