I'd like to be able to hide sertain faces when rigging a very complex mesh. For example, an alien with four mandables all parallel to each other, with thin stretches of skin inbetween all of them.... (not predator)

The ability to hide faces would allow me to apply each mandable to it's own bone without accidentally selecting the inner mouth/ face/ neck/ any part of the body.

The ability to toggle the selection of back faces in figure mode would make this even easier, as would the ability to perform "select connected" when skinning.

It wouldn't just be an alien head, this could let people rig complex mechanical characters where all of the meshes are just in one object.

It's hard to explain, so I'll just show you this.

I need the program for a project me and my friends are working on, but when I want to find it, the page didn't exist. Does anyone have it, or can the person who made it repost it?

Would it be possible to "clip" a selected object so that it appears progressively throuought a shot? A lightcycle beam to be more specific?

I just wanted to know if anything like this is being planned for anim8or...

Just a simple question that I'm sure has been asked before: How exactly do you turn them off?

yep, I'll explain the details later

I check the next day, buried by a few topics.....and zero replies.

Of course.

Well, I might as well say something, seeing as all 3 members of this site (lol) probably already did comment on this (IN THEIR MINDS!!!!!) This design isn't really based on the way the character looks, but the way he character sounds. JV's style is so undetailed, I had to make a lot of stuff up...

I had an Idea that would really help anim8or. It's in a lot of other programs, and it would make rigging organics 12 times easier. If you could set morph targets to activate when a sertain bone moves along a specific axis.

Here's an example...

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Art keeps crashing...
« on: April 12, 2008, 04:51:20 pm »
I have a large scene, an room with pillars and bannars in it. The floor is marble, and I wanted to add a glossy atribute to it. As soon As I go to render it, anim8or crashes immediately. It shouldn't be too hard to recreate. All you need to do for it to work is to add atributes to a mesh with textures (the floor had a bump, specular, and a diffuse map.)
Could it be the specular map?

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Art and mesh clipping
« on: March 21, 2008, 12:44:19 am »
I've noticed that when rendering with art, if there's a face cutting through and behind another, I can still see it. The "texture" dissapears, but the mesh can still be seen through a face if it's "impaling" it. I'm a complete noob, and R retarted at this subject, but an educated guess would tell me that rays aren't recieved from back faces, but they do from the front, no matter what it's behind.......?
Has anyone else notice this?
Can anyone understand this? looking back, my wording is fugly.
