i created this in anim8or for a tech project actually, since I don't yet feel I can manipulate Maya well enough. Once we get onto the Maya module though, i'd like to rig Pikachu in that and animate it. I don't think I could rig this in anim8or well enough. I think modeling is WAY simpler in anim8or, but bigger programs will give me a more realistic animation once I figure out how they work.

Thanks guys, spent a lot of time on it (11 hours +) trying to get it to look right. Took it into photoshop and did a quick paint job on it
Have it close to finished now, just need better UV mapping around the ears and on the tail and a texture on the eye:

Its actully quite good. I think it needs to be fuller in the beak in order to look right.
Also, for the join where the beak meets the cheeks, should be modified so it curves outwards like in the NSMB pic you have, as this creates the "Koopa Smile"
What references did you use to make this?

My aim was to try and replicate a Zelda style dragon skull, I learned a lot about edge-loops from the Joan of Arc tutorial thats all over the web, and i'm hoping i've done a passable job on this.
I drew a couple quick reference images and had this after a couple nights of tinkering.
Please let me know what you think :)

Thanks I'll try get the wireframe pics up soon!
The hair, i'm facinated by particle hair, and since Anim8or doesn't support it I thought i'd fake it. I took a curved path, made an extreemely small N-gon and extruded it along the path. Every strand is made this way.

Anim8or crashes when I put too much hair on her head though  :( so the back half of her head is bald  :D

A lot of time was spent on this, and any feedback would be appreciated.
Excluding the hair, I was looking at the Joan of Arc tutorial for 3DS Max when modeling this.

Been working on this for a while, a robot named Rig

And here's a video of the walk sequence I - attempted. Still learning how to make smooth walk sequences, and hopefully will improve this one.

If anyone knows how to get the glossyreflector attribute to be transparent, id like to add a reflective cornea to the eye on this lil thing.

How do you mean this? I can give the material a transparency and still use the specular>glossy attribute.

Nice movie btw. I reminds me of that lamp pixar has, am i right? It still needs some tweaking, sometimes the object goes through the floor and the ball floats in the air when it morphs.

Got it working now.  Yeah still gotta tweak the ball position when it morphs. And you're right, lol the pixar lamp was partially the inspiration for this.

I cant help but admire this. Truly a work of art.
If you want to add to the wall detail, id go with floyd86's idea and add decals. Personally I think its fine though.
