Anim8or Community

I've been offline for a long time. Very busy with my study. Now after four years I finally finished with my course in 3D animation and visual effects and I just received my bachelor of arts degree.
I would have never come this far without the anim8or community, which got my all started in the world of 3D.
It's been like 7 or 8 years since I came here and began making models and trying out in animation.

With proud I can now present you all my graduationfilm: TRANSVERTO.
I worked on it for six months using Autodesk Maya and Adobe After Effects.

Lost in a Dark forest, a man finds his way out with a personal transformation.

Transverto is the graduationfilm of Floyd Angenent at the HKU, made in the course of six months.
Software used are Autodesk Maya and Adobe After Effects.

So what do you have to do?
Make a still in film noir style, this is a black and white style which is found in alot old movies (and new ones! like sin city).
You aloud to use some color, but most of the picture should be black and white. The theme is all up to you, as long it's typical film noir.

tip: look into low key lighting

This challenge is all about reflections: make a still render with some sort of reflection in it. It can be anything: someone looking in the mirror, or the reflection in the water. You can use the ART raytracer to create reflections. Here is a link on how to make them: ART raytracer

The challenge you will have to do the lighting for a still render. It can be any kind of scene but only the lighting matters. You are allowed to use a little postproduction. But to stop people from photoshopping everything, you will have to add a screenshot of you scene, in which the light setup can be seen.

Howdie Ho, cowboys!! Welcome to a new anim8or challenge.
