General Anim8or Forum / ROTATE tool - Revert?
« on: September 06, 2018, 06:06:16 pm »
Hey. Just changed my laptop, and I just found something. It's the first time when I see the new rotate wheel.
There's a way to revert to the old one? The one when I could use the LMC and the RMC to rotate, position and zoom the view? (the green one)
The weird part is that even the older versions show this new rotate wheel... And that's odd. I wasn't able to find a way to revert it. Please help!

General Anim8or Forum / SLIDING RESIZED FIGURES
« on: November 30, 2017, 12:12:47 pm »
@Steve I don't know if anybody brought up this problem before, but ... let's say I have a figure, it's all rigged and all. I bring it into the scene mode, and I realize it's too big for that scene, so I size it down. Then I lock the IK for the feet.  When animated, it slides away. And I believe it slides to where the 1/1 scale figure's feet would be.
Is there a way to correct that, without actually making the figure again?
I usually keep in mind my figures ratio, but sometimes I forget... so I end up having a hamster being larger than an elephant.  (it's explained now why the elephant fears the mice)

General Anim8or Forum / COPYING in the SCENE MODE
« on: October 17, 2017, 04:58:17 am »
@Steve   Let's say we have the same figure01 in two separate scenes (or in the same scene for that matter). One of the two figures is animated. Being the same figure they both have all the bones and IK chains.
Now, let's say I want to copy only part of the animation key from the first figure to the second one. I click the desired IK chain, hit copy, then select the same IK chain from the second figure and hit paste... Nothing!
This would be a pretty awesome and useful feature. And also, if I have a setup of cameras/lights in scene01, a simple select/copy/paste function would be just pure gold.
Would you consider it for the next release?

And a quick question. I uploaded this error I've got a couple of days ago. It only appeared once, but still, don't know what that was...

Scene mode: Let's say I need to make a cat grab a mouse and walk with it in its mouth. We have FIGURE1-cat and FIGURE2-mouse.
Usually, I would animate the mouse position to follow the cat's head/mouth.
But I wonder... is there a way to maybe link the mouse to the cat's head? We can link/parent objects and figures to each other'  positions in anim8or but in this care, I'll need to link the mouse figure to one specific bone: the cat's head.
The same problem would apply to a character grabbing a cup of coffee.
Whoever got a solution for this problem gets a million dollars  :)

I've just noticed I'm a Sr. Membe now. Yey! :D :D :D

Even if this sounds crazy, I feel very proud to finally become Sr. Member after all these years.
And to be honest, this is the only forum I'm active on. This amazing anim8or community exists because of Steve, and I believe I speak for everybody here when I say: Thank you, Steve, for this amazing program and for this great community you have built.

I want to share with you some of the projects I used anim8or for, even for my job.
I am an anim8or user for years now, and I know anything can be accomplished with it. Of course, patience and a bit of talent might be also useful.

I had to create a Christmas ID, and anim8or was very useful in helping me modeling, rigging, animating and lighting the snowman. In the Gifs you can see how nicely the composited particle fit.
Also, being a big fan of TNMT, I had a few projects with Raph.
This train I never finished ... yet, and a reindeer I used for a commercial.
And, the Constitution Class Starship from Star Trek, USS Enterprise :D

General Anim8or Forum / A present to Steve :D
« on: August 09, 2016, 05:04:42 pm »
Steven Glanville is the man responsible for this amazing community, and for this great 3d program.
I have decided to make this portrait as a present for Steve,  as gratitude for all the time and work he puts in Anim8or.  And also, I could say, as a celebration for implementing IK, a feature we all are grateful for.
Thank you , Steve, for the super-amazing work you do.

General Anim8or Forum / Script for Lipsync (morph targets)
« on: February 23, 2015, 01:03:08 pm »
Hey, guys.

I would like some help with this one.
Is there any way to create/add a script for morph targets?
As an example, when you decode the voice track for the lipsync, you add the desired morph target (and possible, the value) on the desired frame in a txt file. This would save a lot of time with the characters who talk.

I use papagayo for decoding the voices, but when it comes to add the lipsync in anim8or, that usually takes a lot of time, since we use morph targets and not statics like in 2d animations. That's why I think a value should be added in this script.
Thanks.

General Anim8or Forum / Exporting Obj Sequence. Uhm!
« on: April 29, 2014, 11:58:36 pm »
Hey, friends!
I need to ask you something I can not remember...  :)

There was a plug-in for anim8or able to export OBJ Sequence. I kinda need this urgent, and I know I've tried some plug-in some time ago, but unfortunately I can't remember the name of it. If someone knows some app or plug-in that could handle this task , please let me know.

Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

General Anim8or Forum / Photo-Realistic Aliens :) :) :)
« on: October 23, 2013, 09:47:30 am »
Heeey!
Long time, no see! :D
I've been working for some interesting projects, one of them being an Alien Invarions Short Movie. Since I've just started a few days ago, I want to share with you my first tries creating a photo-realistic alien design.
Just added glow and grain.
What do you think? It really sucks, right ?

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Image Based LIGHTING !~
« on: May 20, 2013, 04:52:37 am »
I've been playing around with a technique for image based lighting. Unfortunately, there are not to many options in the material editor, but I came up with this.
The render is in the object mode (Scanline render, AA Filter:3x3). The materials are set to ambient:1 and diffuse:0, to not receive any of external lights.
I've used the Env.Map for the lighting.
If you guys have another technique for achiving this, please share  :)

Hi, friends.
I have a question. Do you know what is the largest image anim8or would load as a texture. Almost everytime I try to load a 6800*6800 texture, anim8or crashes. This img is too big? The problem is I need huge textures for this new project. It seems it crashes 4/5 times.

Thanks.

Hi. I need to make an Easter tv Ident. So, in the scene there will be some wine glasses. And because the ART Ray Traces render to damn slow, i came up with some glass ideea for scanline render.
Do you think the glasses looks realistic enough?
This is just a raw render, the final product will look even more realistic.

Hello forum.
 I face a big dilemma.
I'm working on some animation for an advertisement that includes animation of organic elements. The problem is when using strong bumpmaps, while the animation, the bumps lies in a very strange way. swollen areas are strangely moving, sometimes jumping from one frame to another. Is there any procedure to correct this bug?
Who helps me with a solution gets a beer.
 Thanks a lot.

 ;D ;D ;D Rock on...

Hi. I found something that I've never noticed before: At the computer I'm using at work, the materials looks different. Since I'm using anim8or on a daily basis, it is strange I haven't noticed this before. So, as I was saying, at my office, the materials also shows the bump maps, almost like in the skanline render, but in the PREVIEW window...How is that possible. Are there some setting I'm not aware about? At my office, I use WinXP, but home I have W7.

Thanks
Daniel
