Finished Works and Works in Progress / Re: Building a spartan (Halo)

Haha, I don't think you're the only one, made a little edit to help avoid confusion in the future (and ya never know I might try a 300 spartan for my next project).

Thanks for the tips and support guys (and that "this is sparta" movie too that was epic).
I've decided to hold off on the texturing, I was looking at some Halo 3 screenshots and noticed the proportion issues and the details I was missing.
So I'm into a "ReDetailing" phase, to fix up any little problems I can find.

Just finished the model, and remade the lower legs. Now its on to texturing. As for subdividing, I'm not to sure whether I will or not, depends on how the textures look.

Made some considerable progress. Just the helmet left, then I think I'll rework the legs a bit and add some more detail.

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Building a spartan (FINISHED)

Alright well I've been looking for a project for awhile, and a few days ago I found an old pic of a spartan wireframe from Halo CE, and that sparked the idea for this project.

It's got some proportion issues at the moment but I'm hoping to get those worked out and the model finished by the end of the week at latest.

EDIT: Thought i'd move some of the more recent project pics to the first post.

EDIT 2: I'm finally finished. You can watch it here >
.

Just wanted to say a HUGE thanks to the whole anim8or community and to steve. Even though this project wasn't finished in anim8or, without it, it never would have been started at all! Thanks to everyone that gave me tips along the way and had interest in the project, you guys kept me motivated!

Alright well, I'm pretty sure this isn't the same problem as it's been happening with all my files for a while, and not really sure if i should post this here but i've been having a similar problem. For some reason anim8or won't render AVI files, but i can render a movie as still images and then combine the images, but thats kinda a pain, so if anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

So i was board in art class, we were using clay, ended up making a little dude with a hat.
Got home, was still board, so i decided to start anim8ting the little clay guy, and this is what I've got so far.

Alright, first progress render. I finished the main model, still need to add details and textures. just playing around with the lighting and camera positioning etc.

Ps. anyone know a way to make a particular object not cast a shadow in an art render?

Ahh, I have heard of Lovecraft, not a lot mind you but the name rings a bell. The symbols are being used in the other project I mentioned and originated from an idle mind during a french class and ended up all over my worksheet. As for the image as a whole, its been bouncing around my mind for awhile now and i needed a way to represent it visually (anim8or is really a lifesaver for these things) rather then with words.

Thanks for the positive comments guys.
Arik the word does means nothing to me, the image started as some concept art for another project I'm working on (which unfortunately has nothing to do with animation).

Alright well heres my final final render. The only post-production on this one is a bit of dimming on some of the light rays. Good luck to everyone!
