I somehow think I fix it?
at first it doesn't work.
But I'm using steam instead of wine, with proton 6.3-8

But somehow I think this has to do with the kernel or the Mesa drivers
 :P

Hmmm worked fine for me running animator1402.exe under wine no prefixes on Gurada linux.   ALso worked fine under Sparky.

But under MX Linux, Ubuntu I could not get the editor to get beyond black screen.  I dont know what drivers and libraries are missing and its actually easier to just switch linux flavors.


I'm working on a brand new Minisforum HX90 with manjaro as the OS.
And right now, I'm running into the same problem as you with the blackscreen.
tried to do the prefix32, but with no result.

Also I'm tired and I wouldn't recommend this software to anyone in 2021.
I gotta move on.

Nice, I was able to import some a Pickachu into Anim8or and export it back to STL and then in Cura.

Also found a bug in Linux.
Will have to post this in the bug dept of it

also I'm using an AMD Apu processor + mesa drivers if that helps

Arcane Linux Magic, or just use the command lines
vblank_mode=0 wine <path to your exe>
Sketchup and milkshape has the same issue

Thank you, for your work in Anim8or
And this version is working splendid for me in Wine.
I've also figured out a way to solve the display refresh issue with starting the application with vblank_mode='0'
and hopefully we'll get some new features like glsl shaders and such :P

Woot.

This one is better and way more stable then the 0.96 version (which crash more often) on XP

on my Ubuntu system
it runs pretty well on wine.

it still have the same redraw bug (or probably refresh bug)
can this be fix? or can we have a work around?
please????
