Somehow I'm too stupid to use this. Is there maybe a video available?

NGE is an awesome mecha sci-fi anime/manga with LOTS of technology porn xD if you know what I mean o.ô

Yeah, it's quite confusing o_ô

I finished the lower arm today and put some basic colouring on it.

It's a bit rough and needs lots of fine tuning, but I think it turned out quite good, considering I didn't use Anim8or for ... how long? 3 years?

On the other hand, it will be printed out using Pepakura, so lots of polygons wouldn't be that great... ;D

*cough cough*
Hello everyone! I hope some of you'll remember me... It's been quite a time(hell, my english was bad back then) and to be honest, I abandoned 3d-modeling, since I got the feeling, "viewable" art is not my style, I prefer to write.

Until now.

After wachting Evangelion 1.01(or 1.11? No idea) with some friends(and then watching all episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion) I got the idea - hey, what about an Eva-01-cosplay for the next convention? Hmm, google, how to build cosplay armour... Pepakura? Sounds good. The bad thing was, I couldn't find a suitable(literally) model to print out on paper. So, I thought, why not make one yourself? Heck, it's a lot of work. So... originally I wanted to use 3DS Max since I got that student version on my system and didn't use it yet. Hm. I was too lazy to learn all that new stuff, so I came back to anim8or. The fact that there was an update(which won't work on my systems, neither Win 8 nor Win XP. Bummer.) got me into that anim8or-mood again and today I started working on the armour.

I just wanted to ask if you guys would be interested in viewing the progress of my work. I won't make one whole model, just individual parts, which will be easier to process into real-world armour.

Attached is one of my reference pictures to give you an idea of what I'm doing.

Have a great day everyone

One, the chest (where the breast are) are too high up,
also at the sides, there is no definition, of the hips (or where the hips intersect the torso section).
The spine also has some issues, the center is supposed to be dipped in more than the rest of the back, and the shoulder blades are not seemingly existent.
As you said, it's a suit ;D And the "spine" is actually... not a spine, it's supposed to be some kind of a backpack/jetpack/random-thingy-on-your-back-thing.
Yeah, I actually wanted to make it a bit.. more "smooth", but the main developer told me to do so ^^"
Ignoring anatomy... what do you think? xD

Greetings ^^

To find the game files you could use GFS-Scape or whatever the name is.

General Anim8or Forum / Question about raytracers...
« on: January 14, 2012, 02:06:56 pm »
Hey guys! I've got a question(which is, to be honest, not Anim8or related ^^"):
ATM I'm working on some kind of a.. top secret project ;D and I have to simulate some mirrors and such... Is this possible with a raytracer?
I mean things like this:

If I can't do that with a raytracer, do you have an idea for simulating such things?

Greetings ^^
