Yeah, I know how to UV map. I wasn't looking for a one-click solution, either, just a way to achieve the same effect, as you said.

Okay, then. Perhaps I can figure something out.
I use LithUnwrap for my UV mapping, but it just seems to lack the kind of features I'd need to make it work properly.

Hey, all. I've been trying to put a texture on a (somewhat deformed) sphere and as it always does, it has a line running through the middle of the texture. So when I select the object, say Settings > Component > Texture UV and select Spherical Projection, it looks just like I want it to! Even if I properly make a spherical map, there are still some noticeable flaws that the Spherical Projection option in Anim8or fixes.

Now, I want to know if there is a way to produce the same effect using some other program? Say, Unity 3D for example. Or Blender, or LithUnwrap, UVMapper Classic, anything…?

I've never seen a way to make a texture work like Anim8or's Texture UV setting does. It does something to the model/texture, and I don't know what.
Can anyone shed a little light on this?

Basically, I just want to know if there's a way to duplicate whatever it is the Spherical Projection option in Anim8or does, in some other program, using some other method, so it will work universally in all programs, and not just in Anim8or.

I'm hard at work on a game my brother and I are making. Been using Blender, Anim8or, Unity, UDK, and some other things to get it all done.
We're very serious about it. Not just another project that will never see the light of day. ;)

So I can't join this challenge, but I have been checking on it regularly and the entries in this one are great! :)

Hey, all. I'm kind of getting back into Anim8or and lately I've been doing some things and I have run into a problem.

When I create a simple cube, then convert it to mesh, and try to use the Shell tool on it…it doesn't do anything. I know sometimes the Shell tool doesn't always work, but I've forgotten why…
Any ideas?

Sorry I didn't join. I've been really busy. I've been watching this topic, though. Congrats, floyd! You made something really cool there.

Me and a few other friends are getting serious about becoming Indie game developers so I may get back into 3D modeling before long. As I will need a bit of that if I expect to make games. :P
So count me in for the next challenge, hopefully.
